The
Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards have been announced to recruit international or returning Canadian graduate students and postdoctoral
researchers to Canada. Applications are invited for this program to work at the
Fields Lab for Network Computation (Toronto, ON). Applicants can work with Lyle Muller (Department
of Mathematics, Western University) or Roberto Budzinski (Department of Neuroscience, University of Lethbridge). Research will involve collaborations analyzing neural recordings and developing theoretical approaches to computation in neural networks. In collaboration
with multi-disciplinary teams, researchers will bring together tools and techniques from data science, machine learning, and applied mathematics. The project may include intermittent travel between labs to present results and facilitate collaborative work.
Prior experience with scientific computing, signal analysis, or applied mathematics is preferred. The Universities offer an excellent research environment and support. Candidates can write to lmuller2@uwo.ca or roberto.budzinski@uleth.ca with a CV and
short statement of interest. The deadline for applications to potential supervisors is 4 February 2026.
